Product Marketing Manager

At Tecton, we solve the complex data problems in production machine learning. Tecton’s feature platform makes it simple to activate data for smarter models and predictions, abstracting away the complex engineering to speed up innovation.

Tecton’s founders developed the first Feature Store when they created Uber’s Michelangelo ML platform, and we’re now bringing those same capabilities to every organization in the world.

Tecton is funded by Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, and Kleiner Perkins, along with strategic investments from Snowflake and Databricks. We have a fast-growing team that’s distributed around the world, with offices in San Francisco and New York City. Our team has years of experience building and operating business-critical machine learning systems at leading tech companies like Uber, Google, Meta, Airbnb, Lyft, and Twitter.

As a Product Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving interest to Tecton with ML engineering teams and technical users. You will be responsible for crafting compelling messaging and positioning strategies, developing content that offers meaningful value to consumers, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive awareness, pipeline conversion, and revenue growth. Your deep understanding of our target audience and their pain points, coupled with your expertise in translating technical features into compelling value propositions, will be essential in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Messaging and Positioning: Develop and refine messaging frameworks that resonate with technical users and ML engineering team managers, highlighting the unique value proposition of our products.
  • Create differentiated positioning strategies to effectively position our products against competitors in the market.
  • Collaborate with product management and sales teams to ensure alignment on messaging and positioning strategies.
  • Content Creation: Partner closely with growth marketing to identify content priorities that have significant impact on funnel conversion at different stages of the buyer’s journey.
  • Develop high-quality content, including case studies, blog posts, technical articles, advertisements, emails, technical social posts, and presentations, tailored to the needs and interests of technical users.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to distill complex technical concepts into clear, compelling content that educates and engages our target audience.
  • Manage the content calendar and ensure timely delivery of content assets to support product launches, campaigns, and ongoing marketing initiatives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer feedback to continuously refine go-to-market strategies and tactics.
  • Sales Enablement: Equip the sales team with the necessary tools and resources to effectively communicate the value proposition of our products to technical users.
  • Develop sales enablement materials, such as pitch decks, battle cards, and training sessions, to support sales efforts and drive revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to ensure alignment between marketing initiatives and sales priorities.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct market research to gain insights into customer needs, industry trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Synthesize market intelligence into actionable recommendations to inform product roadmap decisions, marketing strategies, and sales tactics.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the competitive landscape, providing insights and guidance to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, engineering or computer science.
  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in product marketing, preferably in the B2B technology sector, with a focus on highly technical products.
  • Deep understanding of engineering audiences, their pain points, and buying behavior. Experience marketing to data engineering, ML or data science users preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic software development tooling - git, VS code, python, Jupyter notebooks or similar technologies a strong plus.
  • Strong storytelling and messaging skills, with the ability to distill complex technical concepts into clear and compelling narratives.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in content creation, including writing and editing technical content such as whitepapers, case studies, and blog posts.
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset, comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
