The Associate General Counsel provides legal advice and counsel on complex legal issues including contract negotiations, commercial transactions and disputes, business ventures and engagements, HIPAA privacy and security matters, Stark Law and Anti-kickback Statute, intellectual property, and general civil law for an in-house legal department in a healthcare focused setting. Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing commercial and civil litigation, regulatory disputes, contract review, and general healthcare-related legal issues and the supervision of outside counsel. The Associate General Counsel also drafts and structures commercial transactions and agreements including professional and clinical service agreements, purchase agreements, performance contracts, vendor agreements, affiliation agreements, and leases. Consultation in connection with policy drafting is also required in this role. The Associate General Counsel must also maintain familiarity, and ensure compliance with, all relevant local, state, and federal statutes and regulations.
Successful applicant must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university and a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. License in good standing to practice law in the State of New Jersey required. Minimum of five (5) years of legal experience in general civil litigation required, with experience drafting and reviewing contracts or agreements preferred. Excellent human relations and communications skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to function in a team environment are required.
