Terrapin Athletics 5/2/2024 1:48:00 PMStrategic Communications Social Media InternshipThe University of Maryland Athletics Strategic Communications and Content Development department is looking for social media student interns for the upcoming year. This is a terrific way to get hands-on experience working in the athletics industry for those who see themselves having a future career in sports (either the college or professional ranks), public relations, or other similar communications jobs.These positions will work directly with sport programs and with department social media accounts. Social media interns must be reliable, be well organized, have the ability to take initiative and be able to apply the skills you learn daily. Additionally, you must have availability on nights and weekends for events.Those who are selected will perform the following duties:- Assist with the ideation, creation, capturing, and distribution of content on Maryland Athletics social media channels.- Contribute ideas to Maryland's communications and social media team.- Provide real-time social media coverage at events in support of Maryland's social media and communications staff.- Stay in tune with broader social media trends and relate them back to Maryland's social media goals.- Assist with social media calendars and analytics tracking.- Opportunity to work with graphic design, photography and videography staff to hone content creation skills.Maryland is one of the top intercollegiate athletics departments in the country and is a member of the premier conference, the Big Ten.
