Vattenfall is one of Europe’s largest producers and retailers of electricity and heat. Our main markets are Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the UK. The Vattenfall Group has approximately 21 000 employees. We have been electrifying industries, powering homes and transforming life through innovation for more than 100 years. We now want to make fossil free living possible and we are driving the transition to a sustainable energy system.
As a Controller, our main challenge today is transforming the way we and the business think and act. We are shifting from classifying costs as objects to viewing them as added value, empowering our higher goal of breaking free from fossil fuels. What drivers and KPIs would you define if you look at cost levels from this perspective?
If this innovative vision interests you, we have a great opportunity for you in our Controlling team Staff Functions (SF). You will have the chance to improve business decisions and performance by providing fact-based and timely financial insights and working on end-to-end digitalization and enhancing the effectiveness of our finance processes.
“It is advisable for every Controller to build awareness on a deeper level about the complexity of our business. That you really understand where different costs come from. Only then can you make proposals to reduce or maintain it if the added value is indispensable.” Jimmy Bouterse - Head of Staff Function Controlling
As a Senior Controller Staff Functions, you will be a member of the Staff Function (SF) Controlling unit within Finance Business Support. We support the plan-to-perform process and create reports in cooperation with the finance business partners within SF Controlling. You will ensure quality and relevance in reporting and ensure that the organizational structure is mapped in the financial systems and models. You will also work closely with the Center of Excellence (CoE) Charge Out, supporting them with relevant information about the development of the cost base of the Staff Function and identifying improvements in the allocation process.
In your role you are a pioneer in the use of digital reporting solutions. In close cooperation with CoE Data & Visuals, you actively promote further use in the finance area and the staff functions. You use the “Digital Planning” approach in the staff function areas successfully to contribute to a future-oriented controlling process.
Your tasks and responsibilities:

“The world changes every day. When you are not open to change, you will fall behind. It brings me to the edge when people say that what we've been doing this for years we will continue doing in that wat. In these cases I tend to ask why they feel like that and what the underlying facts are and that every specific situation preferably asks for a customizable approach.” – Jimmy Bouterse - Head of Staff Function Controlling
As our Senior Controller Staff Functions you will be comfortable in your role when you bring:
