At State Farm, we believe our interns are the future of our company, and we are committed to helping you succeed!Grow Your Skills, Grow Your PotentialResponsibilitiesJoin the State Farm intern team to gain real-world experience in finance, financial planning & analysis, and business analytics through hands-on learning opportunities at a Fortune 50 company!• Continue developing your professional talents and skills by completing challenging work assignments to generate and influence business results• Participate in events to learn more about the departments at State Farm, how an insurance company works, and how Financial Operations supports other departments in forming their strategy to achieve results• Interact with Executive leadership through mentoring relationshipsIntern work topics in Finance and Business Analytics may include:• Accounting for investments• Compensation• Competitor and industry trend analysis• Risk management/compliance• Cost benefit analysis• Enterprise performance management• Enterprise planning and budget analysis• Expense analysis and management• Performance and operational analysis• Strategic reporting and financial forecasting• Claims and underwriting analyticsDuties and Responsibilities may include:• Use processes and applications to perform data extraction, manipulation, and report generation• Compile, prepare, and interpret forecasts and reports• Proactively anticipate, recognize, and solve problems associated with the enterprise or individual departments• Research and analyze complex business issues and communicate findings to a broad audience through reports and presentations• Interpret and verify compliance with external reporting requirements• Adapt to various work environments and apply financial principles to reporting processesQualificationsQualifications and Skills:• Minimum GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 (overall and in major)• Must be enrolled in school through the completion of the internship• Pursuing degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field(s)• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint• Written and verbal communication• Teamwork• Critical thinking and analytical problem solving• Initiative and curious mindset
