Chief Software Engineer (Hybrid/Onsite) - job 12 of 20

Visa PPD team is on the forefront of Visa’s innovation, responsible for building digital platforms such as Visa Token Services and Visa Click to Pay. This team is also responsible for setting standards in the payment industry level (EMVCo and W3C) for digital commerce. Platform product team is responsible for developing products like Visa Click to Pay and Token products, collaborate with cross functional teams including, but not limited to, Product, Technology, Commercialization, UX Design/Research, and different Visa Regional teams to build great products at scale and drive adoption.

Visa Click to Pay is built using the latest e-commerce industry specifications (EMV Secure Remote Commerce), that enables a simple, faster and more secure e-commerce checkout experience for Visa cardholders. With Visa Click to Pay, we are transforming the online checkout experience by providing a secure checkout experience online, removing the need to enter your 16-digit primary account numbers, look up passwords, or fill out long forms to make a purchase.

Visa Click to Pay team is looking for Chief Software Engineer to join our diverse team, to build new product capabilities and enhancing existing ones. Our platform capabilities will be used by merchants, PSP’s and partners to enable integrated Click to Pay checkout experience in their Guest Checkout flows.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the Click to Pay Engineering team.

  • Develop and implement technical strategies to enhance the Click to Pay checkout experience.

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the Click to Pay systems and infrastructure.

  • Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of our checkout technology solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and customer support, to deliver high-quality checkout products and services.

  • Drive innovation and stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

  • Mentor and develop engineering talent within the organization.

  • Lead high-response teams to manage and resolve incidents promptly.
