Credit / Loan Services Representative - Community Bank of Santa Maria

Founded on March 1, 2001, the Community Bank of Santa Maria has 2 branch offices in Santa Maria and is a full-service retail bank, offering traditional banking products to members of our community.  We take pride in our staff and provide a working environment that promotes professional and personal growth, while allowing our leadership team to engage in hand-on management of his/her departments and not just policy implementation specialists.  As such, this approach has resulted in decades long longevity within the bank of our employees.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Credit Service Manager, the Credit/ Loan Services Representative will perform a variety loan accounting functions relating to the verification and input of new, renewed and modified commercial, real estate and consumer loans.

Duties / Responsibilities:

Note Department:

Perform loan system input of all new, renewed and modified loans; including maintenance to existing loans;

Create all accounting entries (general ledger, transaction account) related to input of loans;

Verify prior day’s loan system maintenance, through daily reports;

Review of all loan statements and notices daily.

Perform monthly certifications at the direction of Branch Administration;

Responsible for the complete processing of paid consumer notes which includes: verification of paid note, obtaining approval from the appropriate Loan Officer, release of appropriate collateral.

Loan Document Scanning:

Scan and index all paper documents with respect to the proper document type related to loans;

Ensure documents are routed to proper work-flows, when applicable;

Review imaged documents to ensure complete and high-quality image capture.

Loan Processing:

Pull consumer and commercial credit reports;

Pulling Flood Certifications;

Perform UCC Search, Filings, Continuations and Terminations;

Knowledge of processing and preparing commercial, real estate and consumer loan documents;

Knowledge of loan processing practices, methods, procedures  and compliance;

Knowledge of loan transaction general ledger accounting.

Loan Document Processing:

Gather, review and prepare all necessary loan documents, to ensure a complete and accurate loan package is ready for closing; adhere to compliance regulations and coordinate with related parties involved in the loan process;

Input loan details into the loan origination system and maintain accurate data throughout the loan process;

Generate and complete loan closing documents based on the approved loan terms, including promissory notes, deeds of trust and disclosure forms.

Check all loan documents against regulatory guidelines and internal bank policies to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED;

At least 3 - 4 years of experience with banking credit, loan processing and related loan accounting;

Proficient MS Office suite experience, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook; ability to learn new software applications quickly;

Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Exemplary time management, organizational, problem-solving, attention to detail, high level of accuracy, multi-tasking, critical thinking, data analysis and customer service skills;

Ability to work effectively alone and within a team environment.

Compensation:

$22.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE, for this full-time, non-exempt position. 

Benefits:

10  days of paid vacation annually accruing on start date during the 1st year of employment and increasing incrementally thereafter;

6 days of paid sick time annually, allotted on January 1 in a lump sum, with a carryover not to exceed 90 days;

Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance paid 100% for the employee; dependent coverage at employee’s cost and available through employee’s payroll deductions;

Simple IRA Plan, with up to 3% annual company match, not to exceed employee’s contributions;

11 paid public holidays annually.

Working Hours:

8:15AM – 5:15PM Monday – Thursday

8:15AM – 6:15PM - Friday

1 Saturday a month - 8:45AM – 12:15PM
