Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Roadway Design Engineer with experience in roadway geometric design, to be based in the Spain Enterprise Capabilities Office in Madrid. This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, incorporating a combination of both in-office and remote working schedules”, as outlined below.

The selected candidate will join our ambitious and experienced Linear Infrastructures team. We are working on stages as early as feasibility studies up to detailed designs on a wide range of projects, either as standalone roadway team or as part of multidisciplinary teams. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors.

Our office has an established track record of successfully delivering roadway designs for many years, throughout the USA and Australia not to mention Canada or Middle East. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team for the Europe Enterprise Capabilities Center (Poland/Spain).

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Work is accomplished autonomously on small projects or portions of larger projects supported by EC within established procedures and practices related to linear infrastructures.
  • Independently preparing design calculations or reports related to roadway elements (geometric design)
  • Performs roadway engineering work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
  • Performs a self-check of work products prior to submitting to others and participates in quality control reviews of documentation originated by equally or less experienced staff.
  • Prepares project deliverables that are reviewed by senior team members.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven track record of working on roadway designs (+4 years).
  • Experience with international regulations and standards (i.e AASTHO; AREMA; Australian Codes; British Standards, etc.) will be considered favorably.
  • Advanced level in geometric design and 3D modeling using any of the following:
  • Bentley Open Roads Designer software.
  • Civil3D
  • Advanced level in CAD software (preferable AutoCAD and/or MicroStation).
  • Experience working in the North America region / Australia will be considered favorably.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering
  • US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably
