Job Description

Are you passionate about sustainable engineering design, specializing in plumbing, water supply, and fire protection systems? Join our Buildings Engineering team as an Undergraduate Mechanical Engineer and gain hands-on experience working on cutting-edge building services projects. You'll contribute to the design of iconic high-rise towers, large-scale malls, and world-class hotels, including landmark developments like Etihad Towers, the Opera District, and The Centre of Curiosity in Abu Dhabi. This is your opportunity to work alongside industry experts and shape the future of innovative, sustainable infrastructure.

About The Role

As an Undergraduate Mechanical Engineer at AECOM, you will gain hands-on experience in an engineering design setting, working on diverse projects under the mentorship of senior team members. Your role will focus on Building Engineering Design, BIM Model and Drawing production, ensuring design brief compliance, completeness, and accuracy, particularly in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist, design, monitor, and inspect HVAC & Hydraulics design systems, utilizing advanced modeling software like HAP/IES to calculate heating, cooling, and ventilation requirements.
  • Use thermal and energy modelling tools to explore sustainable solutions aimed at reducing building energy consumption.
  • Engage in building design coordination, using BIM platforms to collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and stakeholders throughout project phases.

Given that HVAC systems constitute a significant portion of a building's energy consumption, mechanical engineers have a unique opportunity to influence the environmental impact and address climate change concerns. By integrating sustainable design principles into each project, we can ensure that our construction endeavours have a minimized impact on the environment.

What We Offer

  • Career Progression: High-performing individuals will be considered for a full-time Graduate position upon completing their degree and offered a spot in our program.
