Dorm Therapy Social Media Intern

Apartment Therapy was originally launched in 2001 by interior designer Maxwell Ryan (nicknamed “The Apartment Therapist”) as a weekly newsletter for clients. We officially became an independently-owned company in 2004, and since then Apartment Therapy Media has grown to become the only media group dedicated to life at home. We are committed to teaching our audience real-life solutions by giving them tools to create happy, healthy homes through our award-winning brands: Apartment Therapy, The Kitchn, Cubby, and Dorm Therapy. Together, our portfolio engages a monthly audience of 47 million users across platforms, while our dedicated team of over 140 professionals collaborates from our sunny New York City office and locations across the U.S. and around the globe.

Dorm Therapy, part of Apartment Therapy Media’s family of brands, is the ultimate “start here” resource for college students experiencing life on campus. We’re here to help you feel at home at school.

The Audience Growth team is seeking a proactive and passionate individual to contribute to Dorm Therapy’s social accounts, specifically TikTok and Instagram. The Dorm Therapy Social Media Intern will report to the Social Media Director as a member of the Audience Growth team from June to the end of August and will work closely with the team to execute the social strategy by shooting and editing content, sourcing leads, and writing captions. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ideate 3 social content ideas per week 
  • Shoot 1 video per week 
  • Produce and edit 2 videos per week 
  • Source leads for additional content creation 
  • Write captions for TikTok / Instagram 
  • Design pins for Dorm Therapy pinterest
  • Help report on analytics 

Requirements

  • Majoring in a communications field or other relevant subject
  • Proven video editing skills
  • Proven on-camera experience
  • Knowledge of Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok platform and analytics 
  • A strong eye for content that suits different platforms
  • An ability to synthesize concepts and written materials into succinct, visual content
  • Detail-oriented in writing, communication, and organization 
  • Collaborative and invested in the company and brands 
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, and to adjust strategy and execution in the face of new information

Dates: June 2025 - August 2025 

Commitment: $20/hour / 25 hours a week
