Arsenal Biosciences Inc. is a clinical-stage programmable cell therapy company engineering advanced CAR T-cell therapies for solid tumors. We seek a talented and experienced Senior Scientist, Discovery Immunology to work onsite based in our  South San Francisco office.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Design, develop, and execute a broad range of cell-based functional and phenotypic in vitro assays to identify mechanisms of T cell activity under a variety of environments
  • Work in teams as the immunology SME to drive the development, execution and interpretation of manual and automated CRISPR screens to identify novel ways to enhance and probe T cells
  • Drive scientific and technical innovation collaboratively with other members of ArsenalBio
  • Summarize and synthesize data across experiments and present findings at all levels of the organization
  • Provide exceptional scientific leadership and mentorship to scientists and research associates
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with colleagues in automation, computational biology, NGS and discovery in a matrixed team structure


WHO YOU ARE
  • PhD in Immunology, Cellular Biology, Cancer Biology, or a related field with 2+ years of experience, OR a Master’s degree with 5+ years of experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience. Industry experience is preferred but not required
  • Strong background in immunology with a focus on T cell biology and direct experience with primary immune cell culture; prior experience with genetic engineering of primary immune cells and knowledge of tumor immunology and/or autoimmunity preferred
  • Expertise in successfully developing and executing in vitro cellular assays including immune cell phenotyping, functional assessments, proliferation and cytokine analysis
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills and the ability to organize and communicate complex data sets clearly and concisely to key stakeholders from diverse backgrounds 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment, effectively managing multiple priorities with a proactive mindset, strong self-motivation, and exceptional organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with general molecular biology techniques would be preferred
  • Previous experience with pooled/arrayed screening and interpreting scRNAseq and/or screening data would be preferred
  • Experience with tumor or autoimmune disease models would be preferred

The estimated base salary for the preferred primary location of the San Francisco Bay area ranges from $131,200- $160,700. Salary ranges for other locations may vary.  Base pay offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, experience, education, and location. Beyond these considerations, we are committed to pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current employees when making any final offers.
