About You

We’re seeking a result-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as our Documentation Control Engineer. Based out of our Torrington Connecticut location, you will oversee Doc Control utilizing PDM in support of NPI and sustaining engineering activities by providing effective revision control and administration of engineering documentation for electromechanical products, developing processes and influencing revision control decisions, maintaining accurate document configuration, and ensuring engineering document access to user base.

In addition, you will:

    • Oversee Product Data Management (PDM) and document configuration control by administering engineering documentation systems, maintaining structured revision control, and ensuring adherence to industry standards and internal policies
    • Lead Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes by coordinating ECRs and ECOs, streamlining approval workflows, and improving change traceability to enhance efficiency and reduce errors
    • Optimize engineering documentation workflows by implementing best practices for document release, approval cycles, and change management, minimizing delays and maximizing accuracy in engineering data
    • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration on document control by interfacing with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless integration of engineering changes into production
    • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems by managing master data governance, overseeing the transfer of engineering data to the ERP system, and enforcing policies to prevent discrepancies in product structures and bills of materials (BOMs)
    • Enhance PDM system capabilities and user adoption by driving process improvements, providing training to engineering teams, and leveraging system functionalities to improve accessibility and efficiency
    • Support engineering project execution and reporting by maintaining structured documentation repositories, generating reports on change management effectiveness, and aligning document control strategies with NPI and sustaining engineering initiatives
    • Continuously improve CAD/PDM standards and tools by refining system usage, promoting best practices, and ensuring proper configuration and utilization of PDM and CAD tools to support design and manufacturing needs

You should have:

  • BS in engineering or information technologies; or equivalency
  • 5+ years’ experience in engineering document control, MCAD and ECAD parts libraries, bill of materials, product structure, and CAD master model, assembly creation and management
  • Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD systems, PDM/PLM systems and ERP systems is required Direct experience with SolidWorks EPDM Vault, SolidWorks Mechanical, SolidWorks Electrical, Altium, OrCAD, and JD Edwards E1 advantageous
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills required for technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Must be able to think strategically, act in the best interest of team goals, and have a high energy drive for result-oriented execution

Salary Range: $89,000-$120,000

Our company takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of our company's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range. The range listed is just one component of our company's total compensation packages for employees.
