Business Unit Leader- 1st Shift

Position Responsibilities
Under the direction of a Production Manager, this position is responsible for all areas within their business unit. The business unit leader will have responsibility to achieve safety, quality, productivity, customer service, cost, and employee relation objectives through both individual and team contributions. The business unit leader is responsible for conducting a Daily Directional Setting (DDS) meeting each day. Provides direction, leadership, development and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on the job assignments and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, safety standards, quality specifications, and sanitation practices.
  • Track, Summarize and explain key line statistics daily/monthly.
  • Participate in process improvement using ConAgra Performance System (CPS) and Autonomous Manufacturing Development (AMD) tools.
  • Lead root cause analysis, investigation and follow through with corrective action regarding process failures, breakdowns and/or Safety issues.
  • Maintain and approve weekly work schedules for specified work areas and utilize labor to maximize effectiveness while following the Collective Bargaining Agreement guidelines.
  • Motivate and enhance skills of team members.
  • Participate in labor/management relations including the grievance process, investigations and corrective action if needed.

Basic Qualification

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Ability to work off shift hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Food manufacturing and/or packaging experience and basic understanding of EHS and Food regulations.
  • Experience with Union environment preferred.
  • SAP and Thermal processing experience
  • Knowledge, understanding and/or experience with continuous improvement philosophies/tools and the ability to deliver against scorecard metrics.
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting/problems solving Competencies in building and lead effective teams, conflict management, drive for results and motivating others.

Compensation:  

Pay Range:$62,000-$91,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
