The LSU Athletics Operations Department is accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant. This position offers hands-on experience in event and facility management, providing opportunities for skill development in leadership, event coordination, and operational management. Graduate Assistants will leave with a strong foundation in managing high-profile events and collaborating with a wide range of teams.

This is a two-year commitment from July 2025 – June 2027 which includes nights, weekends and holidays. Renewed after year one based on satisfactory academic and work-related performance. Graduate Assistants will receive regular feedback and evaluations to ensure professional growth and success in their role.
Other Roles & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Support guest services and event staffing at assigned events.
Contribute to the necessary work involved in the care, preventative maintenance, repair, improvements, renovations and operation of playing fields, multi-purpose buildings, arenas, stadiums, and other athletic areas.
Collaborate with LSU Athletics departments, coaches, officials, and visiting teams to ensure event quality and guest satisfaction.
Assist with pre-event planning, event-day management, and post-event evaluations across a variety of sports and special events, gaining valuable event management experience
Gain experience working with industry-standard software and technology such as EMS Scheduling Software, ISS 24/7, and other systems to support effective event and facility management.
Supervise, mentor, and provide training to approximately 5 interns and 15 student staff, fostering a positive and learning-focused work environment.
Assist with gameday parking operations by supervising lot attendants, ensuring equipment and signage are properly set up and operational, managing ingress and egress, and addressing any parking-related issues to ensure a smooth and efficient process for all guests.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution
Accepted to or enrolled in the LSU Sport Management Master's program or other related graduate program such as Business Administration, Event Management, or Hospitality Management
Available to work 25 hours per week including nights, weekends, holidays and summer sessions
Possess strong organizational and communication skills
Possess knowledge and ability to adhere to policies and procedures of Louisiana State University, LSU Athletics, the SEC and the NCAA
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working with LSU Athletics, an NCAA Division I athletics department, conference championships, and/or NCAA postseason events
Technical experience with EMS Scheduling Software, Perry Weather, ISS 24/7 Incident Management System, Precision Time Systems, DVSport, and/or HawkEye
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals
Demonstrated ability to communicate with coaches, staff and external constituents
Strong problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations
Special or Physical Requirements:
Ability to work nights, weekends and some holidays is required.
Must be able to walk up and down stairs and stand in one place for long periods of time in variable weather conditions.
Compensation:
Paid tuition
$2,000/semester while enrolled
Will not be able to work any other on-campus paid position
Paid hours are available if not enrolled in classes, with the expectation of working up to 40 hours per week during summer, winter and spring break
