Compensation Range: $18-20/hr

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience

Job Description

The Diet Technician consults with the Registered Dietitian to ensure implementation of the best standard of nutrition and dietary services. Responsibilities include dietary support, grocery budget allocation, client menu planning, maintaining a clean and well stocked kitchen, cooking and baking as needed, and appropriately discerning between appropriate and inappropriate client eating behaviors. This experience will prepare you to be a Registered Dietitian with hands on experience, learning from dedicated professionals, and working closely with a complex population.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dietary support, client menu planning, maintenance of a secure and encouraging mealtime, advising on food preparation as necessary, and appropriately discerning between appropriate and inappropriate client eating behaviors
  • Consult with the Registered Dietitian to ensure implementation of the best standard of nutrition and dietary services
  • Monitor client consumption of appropriate exchange pattern
  • Enforce dietary program and advise clients appropriately on food choices
  • Ability to lead appropriate and relevant nutrition education groups that are engaging and appropriate
  • Ability to implement specific dietary exchange patterns through knowledge of portion size and caloric recommendations set by the Registered Dietitian

This is a part time position working Sundays 2pm-8pm & Mondays 3pm-8pm.

Qualifications

  • Education or relevant experience in the field of nutrition and/or food service preferred
  • Must possess a current Driver’s License and be in good standing.
