About the team and the role:
eBay, Inc. seeks Data Science - Analyst 4 in San Jose, CA
What you will accomplish:
Partner with the Business Units and other cross-functional teams to meet their analytic needs and conduct extensive analyses of eBay's rich data, generating insights, and communicating those insights to the team to guide the project roadmap. Offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, deep analytical capabilities, and a collaborative working style. Construct business analytical models using PySpark (programming language to build ML model on Spark)/SparkSQL (querying language to analyze data on Spark) on eBay’s internal platforms like ModelFlow (eBay’s internal ML pipeline platform to submit and run ML models) and Krylov (eBay’s internal ML platform to build ML models). Design frameworks to segment customers based on their sentiment scores, and work with campaign managers to develop marketing campaigns to retain/recall buyers with negative sentiment scores. Build out the internal fact base through deep and innovative analysis of eBay's large and rich datasets. Conduct data analysis and research to understand user intent and behavior and build a case for improving existing features and experiences and designing new ones.
What you will bring:
Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Data Science, Systems Science, Statistics, or a closely related field plus Three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Analyzing large scale datasets leveraging Python, R, SAS, SQL and Spark SQL to extract insights (3 years)
2. Analyzing large scale linear behavioral stream datasets of customers (3 years)
3. Building effective data pipelines to be leveraged for reporting and/or deep analysis (3 years)
4. Setting up and analyzing A/B testing with deep statistical knowledge of econometric methodologies (3 years)
5. Building statistical causal models (3 years)
6. Building multivariate driver models to performance driver analysis on customer sentiments (3 years)
7. Building predictive models leveraging retail customer data (3 years)
Salary: $180,128.00-234,850.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
