About the role
The People Operations Manager will be responsible for driving scalable HR processes, ensuring a seamless, engaging, and compliant experience for employees throughout their lifecycle at Equip. The People Operations Manager will play a key part in managing benefits, ensuring compliance, and acting as a go-to resource for employees.
Responsibilities
Develop, execute, and continuously improve end-to-end employee lifecycle processes.
Serve as an escalation point for internal People team questions, providing timely and accurate guidance.
Manage and administer the employee benefits program, including health, vision and dental insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives and other perks and benefits.
Track and analyze key metrics such as benefits utilization and attrition to measure the effectiveness of People team programs and identify areas for improvement.
Manage leaves of absence requests and processes, ensuring clear communication with employees, thorough record keeping, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Proactively monitor and update company policies and processes to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
Ensure HR systems and records are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with compliance requirements.
Stay informed of industry trends and best practices.
Support additional People team initiatives, including compensation strategy and performance management, as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in HR or People Operations.
HR or benefits-related certification (e.g., CEBS, SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
Experience working in a fully remote environment with employees across multiple states.
Demonstrated knowledge of HR best practices including benefits administration, leave management, and compliance regulations.
Demonstrated experience improving and automating HR processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
Proficiency in HRIS systems such as ADP.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Physical Demands
Work is performed 100% from home with no requirement to travel. This is a stationary position that requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards as well as to talk or hear by telephone. Sit or stand as needed.
