Job Description

Scope of Position:

This position will require timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Cartage Department.

The position will require phone and email communication with Expeditors employees, trucking companies, and other strategic service providers. This position will require dispatching of pickup’s and deliveries to and from warehouses in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. 

Position Schedule:  Monday - Friday – 7am to 4pm

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Handle dispatching of all products for LAX Branch
  • Carry out effective tracking and tracing and monitoring of all pickups and deliveries for all products  
  • Provide proactive communication with our internal and external customers to meet pickup and delivery needs.
  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery for all shipments
  • Manage workflow and dashboards
  • Follow up on delays and exception coding and reporting
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry
  • Contribute to maintain good relationships with internal and external customers as well as service providers  
  • Work with product to meet service times and special customer requirements

Physical Demands

  • Use of standard office equipment - computer with keyboard and mouse, phone, fax/copy/scan machine, etc.  
  • Write with pencil/pen/marker 
  • Functions performed primarily while seated at desk

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • High School Degree or equivalent required
  • Successful candidates must pass a background check
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must not require future sponsorship for employment visa
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department’s needs
  • Must be able to commute to the city of Hawthorne, CA
  • Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skills
  • Comfortable working in a professional business environment.

  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint)

  • Has a demonstrated strong work ethic, and reliability

The wage for this position is $19.00-$28.00 per hour.
