Your mission

GotPhoto is looking for an enthusiastic Data Platform Lead to join our Platform team in Berlin.

As our Data Platform Lead, you will shape the future of our data platform, ensuring it is scalable, maintainable, and secure. Leading a collaborative and supportive team, you will design and implement best-in-class data architecture, enabling high-quality insights that drive smart business decisions.

You are reporting to our Head of Data Kinda.



Responsibilities

• Shape & Develop – You design and implement a scalable, flexible data infrastructure that supports analytics, reporting, and operational needs.

• Optimize & Automate – You build and enhance ETL/ELT processes using tools like dbt, Airbyte, and Airflow, ensuring efficiency and reliability.

• Ensure Data Integrity – You establish and maintain data governance, data contracts, and quality standards, leveraging data observability and monitoring practices to proactively ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data pipelines.

• Leverage Cloud Technologies – You deploy and manage cloud-based data solutions (AWS), orchestrate containerized workloads using Kubernetes, and automate infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines leveraging Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.

• Lead & Empower – You guide and support your team of 2, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused culture.

We are looking for

• Data Engineering Expert – You have at least 5+ years of experience with SQL, Python, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling.

• Cloud & Automation Proficiency – You have hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, and modern data pipeline tools.

• Scalable Architecture Mindset – You have a strong understanding of event-driven data architectures and infrastructure-as-code.

• Strong Communicator & Collaborator – You are able to engage with stakeholders, explain complex topics clearly, and create alignment across teams.

• Supportive Leader & Mentor – You are passionate about fostering an inclusive, empowering, and growth-oriented team culture.
