Job Description

As a Material Project Specialist in the Visual function, your main responsibility is to ensure that stores have the correct navigation material and vinyl in each Sales Market.  You set the strategy on how to keep the navigation updated in store and keep track of costs for producing navigation & vinyl. You are responsible to produce local vinyl and navigation based on needs within each Sales Market.

This hybrid role reports into our Regional Material Responsible and is based out of the New York Support Office.

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities*

  • Set a strategy and map market needs to secure the right navigation in all stores based on global guidelines
  • Set goals on how to adapt and update navigation in all stores and keep track of costs for producing navigation and vinyls
  • Produce or source vinyls for campaigns and service areas when needed (Applicable for selected Sales Markets or Branding locations in Region Americas)
  • Review cost invoices from suppliers with Material Lead and Controlling functions
  • Secure implementation and maintenance of the right navigation in stores within the Sales Market to execute the best customer offer
  • Keep up to date about the latest global navigation and vinyl guidelines
  • Provide correct navigation and vinyl materials for rebuild phases and new store openings in collaboration with stakeholders involved in the store project plan
  • Secure implementation and maintenance of machinery and materials in the Plottershop
  • Provide all stores with guidelines and instructions of how to apply navigation and vinyl text correctly
  • Attract, drive, and develop future talent by coaching, feedback, and follow-up
  • Attend kick off call with all stakeholders for new openings, rebuilds and projects
  • Support with training of in store material leads
  • Attend 80% walk virtual or in person when possible, to secure all windows align and navigation placements is correct
  • Secure all Visual and Marketing orders for new stores and rebuilds and follow up with missing or delayed shipments to stores
  • Provide follow up with delivery of visual display and marketing to new stores, rebuilds, and projects and follow up with missing or delayed shipments to stores
  • Point of contact for material updates for all projects
  • Maintains daily communication and provide support to Visual Project Leads, Expansion Generalist and Material Leads on projects
  • Point of contact for Area and Sales Market Visual Teams to review order information and trouble shoot any necessary changes
  • Partner with the NCG team that all Display arriving to the Distribution Center is coordinated to arrive to projects on time
  • Assist in updates on window information in LIMA based on existing and new store layouts
  • Domestic travel required

 

 

Qualifications

Who You Are:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Visual Merchandiser and/or providing visual support for store projects
  • School or college degree in Graphic Design or a related field, or equivalent versatile knowledge within the graphic design industry, is preferred
  • In-depth understanding of visual merchandising practices, supported by completed Visual Merchandiser training and skilled in utilizing visual tools to drive brand presentation
  • Experience as a Materials Lead or in overseeing visual materials, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with brand standards
  • Skilled in applying vinyl and capable of training others in proper techniques and best practices for vinyl application
  • Administrative knowledge (LIMA, SIS, FlexiSIGN, Cost Invoices and Ordering Lists)
  • Ability to oversee and follow up navigation and vinyl material budget
  • Knowledge on how to complete invoices
  • Ability to use and maintain the Plottershop machines
  • Knowledge about guidelines and best practices for navigation and vinyl material
  • Proficient IT skills and a willingness to learn new IT skills to support role and processes
  • Leads with integrity and adheres to the brand's ethical standards
  • Experienced in presentation and communication skills with the ability to adapt communication based on audience and situation
  • Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication in English
  • Understand how to collaborate cross functionally to drive results with the ability to collaborate with teams from a distance
  • Readily adapts to new challenges and is driven by a dynamic, constantly evolving environment
  • Excels in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating the ability to complete tasks efficiently and make informed decisions, even with limited information

Compensation: salary range is $60,000-$74,000 annually**
