We are looking for an Interior Designer to join the Architecture and Design team. You will work closely with the Director of Architecture + Design and play a central role in developing and maintaining design packages across developments. Specifically, you will focus on the Los Angeles markets. You will also work directly with homeowners on personalization and upgrade options. You will report to the Director of Architecture + Design, and this role will require cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Procurement, Construction, and Architecture.
Candidates must be based in the Los Angeles, CA area to be considered for this role.
Develop curated design packages and options of varying spec levels for Homebound developments, including options for homebuyers to personalize.
Create design package sample boards and a professional display to be used during client meetings.
Work closely with Sales and Procurement to ensure designs deliver on budget with market and style objectives aligned with comps.
Provide clients with professional design presentations virtually and in-person with mood boards, product information, material characteristics, computer renderings, and samples.
Use Revit to develop detailed Construction Documents including interior elevations, interior detail drawings, and floor plan diagrams with material locations.
Use Bluebeam to redline interior drawings and cabinet shop drawings.
Maintain organized and current project files and assist in managing the Homebound Material Catalog with the ability to source materials as requested.
Some travel required for market research in new developments or site visit walk-throughs.
Meet metrics related to Design Studio key results and work with the Director of Architecture + Design to establish standards tied to performance goals and deadlines.
4+ years of relevant experience as a residential interior designer
A passion for design excellence to meet locally with Los Angeles clients
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Must have experience working in a homebuilder design studio or design firm and leading client meetings.
Must have experience in selecting interior specifications / finishes for architectural drawings with a strong understanding of materials.
Client facing experience with strong customer service and listening skills.
Experience with design software e.g. Bluebeam Revu and graphics editing tools e.g. Photoshop.
Experience with Revit or AutoCAD is preferred and you will be asked to demonstrate your technical ability with computer drafting or redlines using Bluebeam.
Must have exceptional written and verbal communication abilities and understanding of most current design trends for residential construction.
Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities.
Strong creativity skills and problem solving aptitude with a keen eye for detail.
