UX Engineer

Kitman Labs’ advanced operating system, the Intelligence Platform (iP) is now used by over 2000 teams in 50 leagues on 6 continents, including the NFL, Premier League, National Women’s Soccer League and MLS.


We are looking for a UX Engineer to join our design team and help bridge the gap between design and development. You’ll play a critical role in refining and maintaining our design system, optimising user experiences, and ensuring our interfaces are scalable, accessible, and performant. This role is ideal for individuals who excel in collaborative environments and are passionate about translating designs into functional, high-quality front-end code


Key Responsibilities
  • Refine & Maintain the Design System: Help scale and evolve our design system, ensuring consistency across products.
  • Design & Production Process Improvement: Help identify and improve areas across our design → production → release process.
  • Enhance Information Architecture & Navigation: Structure user flows and interactions to improve usability and reduce cognitive load.
  • UX Product Improvements: Work with the product team to identify and implement UX enhancements across the product.
  • Optimise UI for Performance & Accessibility: Ensure our interfaces meet WCAG accessibility standards, perform well across devices, and provide a seamless experience for all users.
  • Collaborate with Engineers & Product Teams: Work closely with developers to ensure designs are feasible, scalable, and performant in production.
  • Prototype & Experiment: Quickly build interactive prototypes in Figma or code to validate ideas and gather user feedback.
  • Champion User-Centred Design: Advocate for UX best practices and contribute to design critiques, usability testing, and research efforts.


What we’re looking for
  • Experience in both design and front-end development, with the ability to bring designs to life using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React, Vue, or similar frameworks).
  • Strong understanding of design systems, component libraries, and scalable UI patterns.
  • Experience working with Figma or similar design tools to create and document design components.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG, ARIA) and performance optimisation techniques.
  • Ability to create interactive prototypes using front-end code.
  • Experience working within cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with engineers and product managers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to balance design intent with technical feasibility.
  • A strong user-centric approach with a dedication to creating intuitive and inclusive digital experiences.


Nice to haves
  • Experience with cursor, copilot, loveable or any AI development tool is a big plus. 
  • Experience with design tokens and design system automation.
  • Experience with MUI component library and Storybook.
  • Knowledge of animation and micro-interactions for enhancing UI experiences.

Location

Whilst remote, you can work from our Dublin office, which is located in the impressive CHQ Building, a 2 minute walk from Connolly train station, and very close to all major bus routes and both Luas lines.  We're also on the doorstep of many shops, restaurants, bars & cafes.
