Senior Product Manager, Operations Systems

Kodiak Robotics, Inc. was founded in 2018 and has become the trusted world leader in autonomous ground transportation committed to a safer and more efficient future for all. The company is developing an industry-leading artificial intelligence (AI) powered technology stack purpose-built for driverless military and long-haul trucking applications. Kodiak’s unique modular hardware approach integrates sensors into a streamlined sensor-pod structure that optimizes for perception, scalability, and maintainability. The company autonomously delivers freight daily for its commercial customers across the Sun Belt states and for Atlas Energy in the Permian Basin. Kodiak also leverages its commercial self-driving software to develop, test and deploy autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Manager to drive successful roll out of our products that are used by the Kodiak Operations team. In this role you will shape the future of autonomous trucking by building the tools that empower real-time remote operations, fleet efficiency, and mission-critical logistics. You’ll lead the development of systems that directly enable our autonomous vehicles to operate safely, reliably, and at scale—impacting everything from commercial freight to national defense.

In this role, you will:
  • Be the directly responsible individual (DRI) for the full product lifecycle for your area of responsibility: from customer/user engagement, through requirements / design, development, testing, deployment and feedback.
  • Enable our operations team to maximize the efficiency of our fleet of self-driving vehicles through a suite of operational tools that enable remote fleet management, routing, monitoring, remote support, and troubleshooting.
Define & Implement:
  • Understand how Kodiak Operations perform their work with existing or new tools and conduct your own user research.
  • Work with operations and engineering teams to prioritize features.
  • Create concept of operations (CONOPS) / user journey documentation
  • Write requirements and user stories: validate with users, and collaborate with engineers to provide implementation detail.
  • Work closely with Kodiak engineering teams to drive consensus, and collaborate on design and implementation.
Prioritization and Planning:
  • Create and manage roadmaps to allow engineering and the operations team to understand feature availability.
  • As issues arise, prioritize these and balance against the planned work.
Rollout:
  • Work closely with Kodiak Operations and our customers to roll out new product features and gather feedback from the field.
  • Visit customer locations to gather detailed feedback from the field, and summarize and present to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Kodiak Operations team to conduct product training.
  • Ensure tooling is being used successfully and correctly.
  • Travel required to customer locations, and Kodiak headquarters in Mountain View, CA.

What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years experience as a Product Manager.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying complex products with operations teams
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with both engineering teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong design sense, having prior experience working with user experience designers. Human factors experience is a plus.
  • Experience with web based operations tools, and remote monitoring systems.
  • Ideally experience with logistics operations (warehouse, trucking)
  • Exceptional communication skills with experience presenting to and negotiating with senior stakeholders.

What we offer:
  • Competitive compensation package including equity and biannual bonuses
  • Excellent Medical, Dental, and Vision plans through Kaiser Permanente, Anthem, and Guardian (including a medical plan with infertility benefits)
  • Flexible PTO and generous parental leave policies
  • Our office is centrally located in Mountain View, CA
  • Office perks: dog-friendly, free catered lunch, a fully stocked kitchen, and free EV charging
  • Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability, Life Insurance
  • Wellbeing Benefits - Headspace, One Medical, Gympass, Spring Health
  • Fidelity 401(k)
  • Commuter, FSA, Dependent Care FSA, HSA
  • Various incentive programs (referral bonuses, patent bonuses, etc.)

The annual salary range for this full-time position in Texas is $165,000-$190,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process.  Please note that the compensation details listed above are base salary only and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
