OVERVIEW
The Liberty University Forensics Team represents the University in academic competition, in public speaking, oral interpretation, and limited preparation events characteristic of collegiate forensics tournaments. Compensation includes tuition waiver, plus stipend.

Education and Experience
Must be enrolled in a Liberty University Communication graduate program.
Must have collegiate and/or high school speech/forensics experience.
Must live in the local area in order to report to work on campus.
ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES ESSENTIAL TO THE FUNCTION OF THE JOB
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate. Working environment also includes facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.
Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.

At Liberty University, we’re on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Graduate Student Assistant for our Forensics Team, focusing on Strategic and Personal Communication. This unique opportunity allows you to immerse yourself in the academic support landscape while representing the university through public speaking and forensics competitions. As a Graduate Assistant, you’ll engage with students, help prepare them for collegiate-level speech competitions, and even travel with the team to judge their performances. You’ll work directly under the Director of Forensics, so your contributions will truly matter! Your responsibilities will include scheduling meetings, grading assignments, and possibly teaching your own classes, all while fostering a vibrant community of learners. With a maximum commitment of 20 hours per week, this role provides a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable experience while also enjoying a tuition waiver plus a stipend.
