Structural Engineering Lead - Bridge Design - job 1 of 2

We are looking for a talented Structural Engineering professional to assist with the growth and leadership of our Structural Engineering team in Missouri. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing firm that places a strong emphasis on fostering a positive workplace culture.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will be a Professional Engineer with extensive structural engineering and project management experience working on DOT and/or local agency transportation design projects. Lochmueller Group is a regional engineering consulting firm with an emphasis on infrastructure.  We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & transportation planning; surveying; and land acquisition & appraisal. Our Structures team focuses on the design, analysis, and inspection of man-made structures such as buildings and bridges with the primary goal of ensuring the integrity, safety, and functionality of our built environment.

In this position, the candidate will:
  • Play a key role in the growth, leadership, and development of the Missouri Structural team.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with DOT and local agency clients, assisting with business development for the Structural Engineering service line.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of bridge and transportation structures design.
  • Perform as a project manager on DOT and local agency bridge design projects.
  • Work on major projects or several major projects of moderate scope with complex features.
  • Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
  • Assist senior management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
  • Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
  • Prepare proposals and funding applications.
  • As opportunities present themselves this role may also be involved in other various projects and responsibilities.


Qualifications for this role:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Structural emphasis is helpful
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 12+ years of Structural Engineering experience with an emphasis on bridge design projects
  • Experience with project management and accounting software
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
