The Lead Electrical Technician position involves conducting and coordinating electrical activities, including construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, while also providing technical guidance and training to team members.
Core Responsibilities:
Leading:
• Directing a team of electricians.
• Assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
• Providing technical guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
Planning:
• Conducting and coordinating electrical projects, including construction, maintenance, and repair.
• Reading and interpreting schematics, and electrical codes.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Technical Expertise:
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical problems.
• Performing electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance.
• Working with a variety of electrical equipment and systems, including wiring, fixtures, control devices, and power systems.
• Ensuring all necessary forms, permits, precautions, etc. are fulfilled prior to the start of all work.
Communication and Documentation:
• Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Maintaining accurate records of work performed.
• Red lining electrical schematics to reflect changes to systems and submitting to the supervisor for revision by the electrical designer.
• Reporting on project progress, including reporting problems and delays to the supervisor.
• Reviewing daily work time per task by each electrician and ensuring thorough use of time per the project schedule.
• Participating in safety meetings and training.
Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, repair, and installation in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a maintenance or electrical role.
