Pharmacy Manager - Compounding

Mixlab is a fast-growing veterinary compounding pharmacy. We are hiring a Compounding Pharmacist to serve as Pharmacy Manager for our New York compounding lab. We are looking for a leader who is obsessed with details and are driven by an ability to #makeithappen for our customers and their furry (or scaly!) friends no matter what. You will be an integral part in helping us to ensure our NY operation runs smoothly, and to make Mixlab a 100% dependable resource for our customers and veterinarians alike.


This is a full-time, salary role with a base compensation of $135,000-155,000 per year. Pay is determined by individual qualifications, licensure, experience, and skillset.


Operational Responsibilities
  • Lead Daily Operations: Conduct AM/PM stand-ups, delegate workflow tasks, and allocate staffing resources to achieve daily goals.
  • Monitor & Enhance Performance: Track productivity and quality metrics, analyze trends, and drive innovation to enhance productivity.
  • Optimize & Improve Workflow: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational challenges, working closely with Care and Logistic teams to enhance efficiency.
  • Champion Quality & Compliance: Supervise compounding lab activities, enforce USP 795, USP 800 and state regulations, and uphold company standards.
  • Execute Hands-on Compounding: Prepare non-sterile pharmaceutical formulations, including capsules, tablets, chew treats, oral liquids, and topical medications, ensuring precision and adherence to standards.
  • Streamline Communication & Alignment: Relay critical operational updates, reinforce best practices, and foster a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Innovation & Process Improvement: Partner with leadership to develop new ways of working, introduce innovations, and implement strategies that enhance efficiency and quality.Support PIC with projects as needed.


People Responsibilities
  • Lead & Develop: Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of technicians, pharmacists and leads.
  • Empower Growth: Conduct monthly check-ins to set goals, discuss professional development, and provide performance feedback.
  • Train & Coach: Facilitate hands-on learning and skill-building opportunities.
  • Support Team Operations: Handle scheduling, timekeeping approvals, and other administrative tasks to keep daily workflows running smoothly.


About You
  • You have 2-4 years experience managing people in a pharmacy
  • You have 3-5 years experience a pharmacist Compounding experience is preferred
  • You have a customer-focused (and in our case, a pet-focused!) mindset
  • You thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • You are a NY-licensed pharmacist, in good standing with the NY State Board of Pharmacy. Additional state licenses a plus!
  • You have excellent communication skills - both written and verbal - and are a collaborative, team-player
  • You have an all-hands-on-deck attitude with an ability to remain calm and excel under pressure
  • You have the ability to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures
  • You constantly strive to “wow” clients and patients
  • You have a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityYou are scrappy and resourceful
  • You’re not afraid of wearing multiple hats - you pitch in to help the team when necessary
  • You have flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
