PROGRAMS
National Health Foundation is addressing the social determinants of health using several research-proven strategies. We are targeting Food Access, with an emphasis on increasing the availability of health and fresh foods in under-resourced communities, Housing, with a focus on providing shelter and care for individuals who have been released from the hospital, the Built Environment, prioritizing the removal of the barriers to health in the communities we serve, and Education, with a focus on risk prevention and support for pregnant and parenting teens to complete their education. Are you passionate about community health and food security? If so, the National Health Foundation is looking for a dedicated Program Associate - CalFresh Promotor to join our team! As a Program Associate, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of individuals across Panorama City, South Los Angeles, and Lincoln Heights. Working from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, you'll implement day-to-day program tasks, from enrolling individuals in food assistance programs like CalFresh to conducting engaging workshops on local food resources. Building partnerships with community members and keeping up to date with local health programs will be key parts of your role. You’ll represent NHF in community meetings, maintain vital program records, and coordinate events that promote our services. With at least 3 years of experience in community outreach as a certified Community Health Worker or Promotora, your knowledge of local resources and strong public speaking skills will help you thrive in this position. Plus, being fluent in English and Spanish, or another commonly spoken language in Los Angeles County, will further enable your outreach efforts.
