Senior Visual Designer

At NerdWallet, our mission is to provide people with clarity and confidence to make better financial decisions. We are seeking a Senior Visual Designer interested in playing a pivotal role in bringing our mission to life through compelling visual storytelling and innovative content as a member of our Brand Studio team. 


The Brand Studio team operates as the internal agency for all things creative at NerdWallet. Our team of designers, content strategists, producers, editors, and developers produce creative for NerdWallet, evolve our brand guidelines, manage our roster of creative agencies and freelancers, and maintain self-service resources and templates to enable everyone in the company to create on-brand experiences.


As a Senior Visual Designer, you will help conceptualize, design, and execute creative solutions to support various programs such as Sponsorships, Brand Equity, Campaigns, Content Marketing, and more. This role will report to the Director of Brand Design.

Where you can make an impact: 

  • Define, implement, and evolve our brand expression across experiential, swag, print and digital channels

  • Contribute to our overall brand guidelines and libraries with new ways to innovate our visual expression, adding new assets to our brand library 

  • Own the design of our sports sponsorships workstream, including in-stadium print and digital signage, in-person activation concepts, ads, and landing pages 

  • Support brand campaigns with toolkit evolutions, digital ads, landing pages

  • Drive and develop organic social designs with fresh concepts 

  • Maintain guidelines and toolkits, finding ways to work more efficiently across programs

  • Translate our visual expression across owned and paid channels to push the boundaries of the NerdWallet brand

Your experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in visual design, brand design, graphic design, or a related field

  • Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality brand design work, including branding, OOH, print, and digital marketing materials and guidelines

  • Deep understanding of typography, color theory, composition, and layout principles

  • Expertise in design tools including Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects)

  • Experience creating marketing visuals, digital campaigns, OOH and print assets, and toolkits

  • Ability to balance creativity with business objectives, using data and insights to inform design decisions

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present ideas and work effectively with stakeholders

  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and managing multiple projects with competing deadlines
