You’ll be joining a team of nine as a Senior Software Engineer. This role grants you a significant degree of autonomy, and influence over the development and direction of the platform and product.
We’re building a cloud-based SaaS product that allows materials engineers to leverage state of the art image-based AI—focusing on an intuitive experience so users can achieve results with minimal effort.

Polaron, a dynamic spin-out from Imperial College London, is on the lookout for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our enthusiastic team. Founded by the innovative trio, Dr. Isaac Squires, Dr. Steve Kench, and Dr. Sam Cooper, we are dedicated to merging engineering, AI, and materials science into cutting-edge solutions that yield the materials of the future. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll enjoy a high degree of autonomy and play a pivotal role in developing our cloud-based SaaS product aimed at empowering materials engineers through image-based AI. You will be contributing to exciting projects like scaling our canvas-based image frontend to support high-resolution images and intelligently autoscaling our GPU cluster in response to user demands. Plus, you will also help build a public-facing API alongside our web interface. We seek individuals with over five years of product-focused software engineering experience who are comfortable working across the tech stack, from React frontend optimization to cloud infrastructure provisioning using AWS and Terraform. A good technical communicator, you should have a robust understanding of statically typed programming languages like TypeScript or Java. Interested?
