The GoPro / Camper Content Creation Counselor plays a crucial role in empowering Woodward campers to become content creators and share their unique experiences with the world.
This position is dedicated to fostering a vibrant camper content creation culture by inspiring, educating, and equipping campers with the skills and knowledge to produce engaging video and photo content. This includes teaching fundamental video and photography techniques, introducing basic storytelling concepts, social media safety and nurturing their creative vision.
The GoPro / Camper Content Creation Counselor will be the primary point of contact for campers interested in content creation, leading daily discussions and workshops focused on developing these skills. A key responsibility will be maintaining the GoPro Lab and organizing the camp's fleet of GoPro cameras and accessories, ensuring they are readily available and functioning correctly for camper use.
This individual will also guide and inspire campers through the editing process, helping them transform raw footage into compelling stories that capture the essence of their Woodward experience. While collaborating with the marketing team to capture key camp moments and support broader content themes, the primary focus of this role is on facilitating and amplifying camper-generated content, empowering them to share their perspectives and stories.
Content Creation Education: Lead daily discussions and workshops with campers on various aspects of content creation, including shooting techniques, composition, storytelling, and basic editing principles.
Skill Development: Instruct campers on the fundamentals of video and photography, helping them develop their skills in capturing high-quality content.
Inspiration and Guidance: Inspire and motivate campers to explore their creativity and develop their unique content creation style. Provide constructive feedback and guidance throughout the process.
Equipment Management: Maintain and organize the camp's fleet of GoPro cameras and accessories, ensuring they are in good working order and readily available for campers.
Editing Support: Guide and assist campers with the editing process, helping them assemble their footage into compelling stories.
Marketing Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to capture key moments of camp life, support content themes, and contribute to the overall content strategy.
Content Capture: Capture high-quality video and photo content of camp activities, events, and camper experiences to support marketing initiatives.
Storytelling Development: Introduce and reinforce basic storytelling concepts to help campers create more engaging and impactful content.

Additional Details:
Proposed pay rate of $17.00 an hour - actual pay may be adjusted based on experience.

This position is classified under California's Camp Counselor exemption (LAB 118.4 and Wage Order 5). Employees are paid a weekly salary of 85% of their hourly rate for hours worked between 40- 54 hours per week or will be paid at 85% of their hourly rate for each hour worked if the employee works less than 40 hours per week. Any hours worked over 54 will be paid at overtime rates, in accordance with California labor law.
