As a Component Repair Engineer for Roll-Royce, you’ll play an integral role by providing technical engineering support for LiftSystem depot and repair activities such as repair development, nonconformance assessment and analysis, depot stand-up, and the associated technical approvals. As a member of the LiftSystem Engineering for Services and Global Repair Capability teams you will make an immediate and crucial impact on a cutting edge program in a key part of its life cycle, developing repairs needed by the customer, today.

Key Accountabilities:
Develop, substantiate, document, implement and maintain repair definitions and inspection requirements for Indianapolis and global product lines, primarily LiftSystem
Identify opportunities for new repairs based on the condition of service run components and define the limits within a repair is technically feasible. This can include the definition of dressing geometry or the definition of maximum allowable material removal.
Define the validation and verification requirements for repair definitions.
Support stand-up of depot facilities.
Identify repair technology gaps.
Manage multiple delivery commitments to varying timelines
Create and maintain relationships with customers through good communication to ensure technical solutions meet agreed requirements.
Create and maintain relationships with Design Engineers to ensure that repair methods are considered during initial design concepts and any technology gaps resulting from new design philosophy are identified early in the life cycle.
Basic Qualifications:
Associate degree in engineering or technology with 4+ years of experience, OR
Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology with 2+ years of experience, OR
Master’s degree in engineering or technology, OR
JD/PhD in engineering or technology, OR
In lieu of degree, 6+ years of relevant experience
Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident to be considered for this role
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in mechanical, materials, aerospace, or industrial engineering or technology
Technical knowledge of gas turbine power plants and systems
Knowledge of the function of components within gas turbine systems
Knowledge of repair processes including machining processes and special processes and how they impact the component and system
Knowledge of inspection processes including non-destructive inspection
Knowledge of material properties for the selection of materials or special processes for repair procedures. Includes chemistry, structure, mechanical and chemical performance
Experience writing nonconformance approval documentation or technical reports
Experience with setting up a depot facility
Familiarity with fixed process approval and first article inspection processes

Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement.
