Key Responsibilities:

  • Wireframing & Prototyping:
    • Create low-fidelity mockups and wireframes to rapidly test concepts and gather feedback.
    • Develop high-fidelity prototypes and polished designs using Figma or similar tools.
  • Graphic & Visual Design:
    • Conceptualize and produce stunning, on-brand visual elements—iconography, typography, color palettes, and layouts.
    • Maintain and evolve design systems, style guides, and pattern libraries for consistent user experiences.
  • Front-End Implementation:
    • Translate finished designs into clean, maintainable HTML/CSS, ensuring pixel-perfect implementation.
    • Integrate front-end code with our Shopify theme.
  • Product & Business Alignment:
    • Transform business goals and customer needs into design solutions that drive results.
    • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate designs and inform product decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with our engineering team to ensure cohesive design and development workflows.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with design trends, emerging tools, and front-end best practices to maintain a cutting-edge user experience.
    • Be receptive to feedback during design reviews and maintain a strong design culture across the organization.

  • Proven UI/UX Design Expertise:
    • Demonstrated experience in graphic design, interaction design, and user interface creation, backed by an impressive portfolio.
    • Mastery of Figma (preferred) or similar design software for both low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes.
    • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and interaction patterns.
  • Front-End Proficiency:
    • Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS, including accessibility standards and responsive/mobile-first design.
    • Solid understanding of Shopify's capabilities, limitations, theme structure, and liquid templating language.
    • Ability to collaborate with developers to ensure designs translate accurately and perform well.
  • Product & Business Acumen:
    • Track record of understanding business requirements and user pain points, translating them into impactful design solutions.
    • Experience working closely with product owners or managers to prioritize features and improvements.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and value to non-designers.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3+ years of UI/UX design for web applications, with at least 1 year focused on Shopify design.
