This isn’t your average tech role. We’re on the hunt for an Automation Engineering professional with hands-on experience building and implementing bots using Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Platform and AI, to join our growing team. As we seek to drive productivity by leveraging automation and AI technology, you’ll play a key role in designing, building and delivering high-impact projects. If finding creative solutions within complex systems excites you, this could be your next big opportunity!
The Warehouse Group (TWG) is a Kiwi household name, and we proudly recognise the role that we play in communities throughout New Zealand. We are the largest general merchandise retailer in NZ with over $3 billion in sales, and employing over 12,000 people across The Warehouse, Warehouse Stationery and Noel Leeming.
Sitting within the Group Technology Solutions and Engineering team (and reporting into the Automation Lead) you will work closely with other automation engineers and a range of business stakeholders.
Our award-winning automation team is three years into a mission to drive productivity across all our processes and systems by leveraging automation and AI tools. This is both a systems and a technical role, where your interpersonal skills and ability to cut through complexity to identify solutions is equally as important as your technical proficiency. Over the past 3 years we have built over 80 bots which are busy delivering value to the business 24 hours a day. Your role will be to help maintain these existing bots with a high level of reliability and extend the collection to deliver new bots and further productivity.
By joining our Automation team, you will be joining a cohort of Automation Engineers, supported by two industry leading external partners so there is great support and cross skilling. Day to day you will be leveraging your business and technical skills to investigate, design, architect and deliver solutions – developing, testing, implementing and maintaining processes to expand and optimise our bot collection while experiencing a high level of creativity and autonomy.
First and foremost, you have a passion for seeking robust and efficient solutions for complex business problems and be able to deliver those solutions at the level of maintainability required by a large organisation. You will have the proficiency to confidently develop these solutions using automation and AI tools, and an excellent understanding of the technical environment in a large organisation, including networking, security, change control processes, project delivery and a strong understanding of programming concepts.
You will bring the following to the role:
Proven automation development experience through to bots running in production environments
Demonstrated experience, preferably in Blue Prism and Power Automate (or a willingness to learn these tools if your automation experience is with other tools)
Demonstrated experience integrating AI into Automation
Experience using large datasets (ideally Snowflake) in automations
Creativity and a desire to drive productivity in a complex environment
Excellent relationship management and communication skills
A willingness to share and contribute within a team
Be open and resilient to change
