Overview

Integrity Initiatives International (integrityinitiatives.org) is an international NGO focused on combatting grand corruption by strengthening the enforcement of criminal laws against corrupt leaders, also known as kleptocrats. III works to end grand corruption by: supporting national measures, such as the recently created High Anti-Corruption Court in Ukraine; promoting understanding of the close connection between human rights and anti-corruption organizations; forging a network of young people dedicated to combatting corruption in their own countries and around the world; and catalyzing a campaign to establish the International Anti-Corruption Court (IACC).

 

III is a fiscally sponsored organization of TSNE (www.tsne.org).

 

Responsibilities

The Special Assistant to the Chair of III works in Boston, Massachusetts and reports directly to the Chair of III, United States District Judge Mark Wolf. This Special Assistant also works closely with the Managing Director and Program Director, the Deputy Director, and the III Board.

The Special Assistant to the Chair of III is a unique opportunity for a new or recent graduate to gain experience working closely with III’s board and partners, who include leading international jurists, former cabinet ministers, and civil society leaders, among other prominent individuals from around the world.

The position is temporary for 12 months, after which time there is the possibility of an extension or the transition to regular employee based on III’s needs. For the excellent candidate, there may be opportunities for significant professional growth as the scope of III’s work expands.

 

The Special Assistant to the Chair participates in the full range of III’s activities, including:

Essential Funtions

Program Duties

  • Support the Chair in his daily work on III projects;
  • Schedule and participate in meetings with partners, board members, and other prominent individuals;
  • Write a detailed summary of each meeting;
  • Maintain the Chair’s list of priorities, additional action items, and calendars;
  • Organize and distribute materials prior to meetings, including Executive Committee meetings and meetings of III’s Board of Directors;
  • Organize events such as webinars, conferences, and meetings with partners;
  • Conduct research and write memos on matters concerning international law, grand corruption, and anti-corruption efforts.

 Communications Duties:

  • Draft and edit communications materials, including newsletters, press releases, brochures, executive summaries, social media content, etc.;
  • Maintain III’s website using SquareSpace;
  • Assist in the development of the social media strategy and toolkit; track and analyze the social media metrics.

 Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain III’s electronic and paper records.
    • Electronic records include a Google Drive, emails from partners, online publications, contacts lists, and other similar records.
    • Paper records include folders for each initiative, business cards and contact information, to-do lists for the Chair, and other similar records.
  • Prepare itineraries and travel arrangements for the Chair and other partners, when necessary;
  • Manage III interns day-to-day, when necessary;
  • Lead development of manuals, promotional and instructional materials, such as onboarding for interns/staff, slide decks, and brand and social media guidelines.

Financial Duties:

  • Facilitate the management of III’s finances with Third Sector New England (TSNE), including submitting expense reports, tracking contributions, sending acknowledgement letters, and fulfilling invoices;
  • Assist the Managing Director & Program Director in budgeting, financial reporting, and quarterly data presentation;
  • Provide administrative support for fundraising efforts, including drafting emails, researching individuals and foundations, editing grant proposals and grant reports, and keeping detailed notes of III’s fundraising history.

Special Requirements

  • Ability to work early in the morning or in the evening to communicate with the Chair of III and with board members and partners around the world;
  • Travel within the United States and abroad;
  • Must have or be able to obtain a passport;
  • Ability to work for III for at least 12 months, with the possibility of extension. TSNE is an at-will employer.

Qualifications

We will consider exceptional candidates who demonstrate a strong combination of the specific qualifications and skills described below.

  • Authorized to work in the United States;
  • Bachelor’s degree (required) or a master’s degree (preferred);
  • 0-3 years of professional experience;
  • Experience in law, politics, international relations, or a related field;
  • Experience working for a non-profit preferred;
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • A high level of responsibility and accountability;
  • An entrepreneurial attitude and an ability to act independently;
  • A passion for ending grand corruption;
  • Ability to exercise discretion and good, independent judgment in dealing with members of III’s board and its partners.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to:

  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time in front of a computer screen is an essential aspect of the position;

  • Effectively communicate with others;
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally;

  • Reach; traverse; sit (usually for longer periods of time); occasionally ascend/descend; and position self (to) move;
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up materials or equipment;
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very low;
  • Likelihood of personal injury would be very low;
  • Environmental and work hazards are not present to a measurable degree.

 

Compensation and Benefits

 

Location: Work will be performed in Boston, MA.

Schedule: Full-time Monday – Friday including early mornings and occasional nights and weekends.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000/yr and is commensurate with experience.
