Bachelor’s degree in biology, psychology, health education or related field or
High school diploma/GED plus four (4) years of health education experience required.
Must be able to pass a background check as part of the Little Rock School District Volunteers in Public Service Program and maintain current CITI training for human subjects research.
Post-baccalaureate coursework in public health preferred.
Formal training or experience in epidemiology preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Two to three years of experience working with community-based programs/organizations.
One to two years of experience with REDCap data management system for forms, surveys and research data management.
One to two years of experience in working with schools and students in a research setting.
General understanding of public health, nutrition, food insecurity, physical activity.
Ability to initiate and maintain positive working relationships with project staff and other organizations.
Ability to track and manage administrative correspondence and ensure research data are accurately and completely recorded.
Evidence of having successfully supported community-based research and program interventions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Requires a high level of mobility in order to be able to support activities at various locations and outdoors in settings such as recess.

Responsibilities:
Perform research, outreach and record keeping activities to support the Center’s mission
Operates in a supportive role within an interdisciplinary research team
Provides support, outreach, and administrative support to ongoing grant projects
Recruits and consents research participants, collects research data, and provides follow up communication with research study participants in person, via telephone, and email
Documents work with research subjects through appropriate record-keeping that follows the project’s policies and procedures.
Participates regularly in project team meetings.
Participates/assists as needed in any activities related to the Center for the Study of Obesity.
Serves as liaison between the professional staff and the community, including developing relationships with various community stakeholders.
Assists in gathering and evaluating data concerning research programs.
May perform other duties as assigned.
