Job Purpose

As the One Dove Public Relations Lead for North America, you will work collaboratively to manage earned communications, including activation strategy and execution across product innovation, ambassadors/talent, and storytelling for the brand. This role supports and reports to the Head of PR & Influence for North America.

What Will Your Main Responsibilities Be

  • Support in development & execution of PR plans across the total Dove brand that land in culture and generate earned media coverage in the US & Canada.
  • Serve as a guardian of the brand so that communications are consistent in the look, tone and feel of Dove, adhering to overall brand standards.
  • Strengthen existing and cultivate new relationships with beauty, news, culture, trade, e-comm and broadcast outlets.  
  • Manage agency partner relationships to deliver plans, ensuring alignment, consistency, efficiency, effectiveness, and ROI for all earned activities.
  • Develop and manage PR calendars to deliver a clear and effective holistic annual media strategy for total Dove.
  • Oversee development and review of all press materials including key message documents, media strategies, Q&As and press releases.
  • Generate innovative ideas and identify agile opportunities that can add value to campaigns while challenging agency partners on existing strategies and executions 
  • Management of crisis communications as necessary 
  • Community Management and Customer Care teams; approving critical messages and communication that is effective by audience  
  • Drive quick turn agility campaigns throughout the year

    Internal Collaboration:

    • Work closely with One Dove head of PR & Influencer for North America and wider One Dove team to ensure connectivity across categories
    • Constant collaboration with cross-functional Dove stakeholders (including but not limited to Global, Corp Comms, Customer Care, R&D, Retail, and Senior Leadership Teams)
    • Drive connectivity between PR and Influencer team workstreams where relevant

    Analytics and Oversight

    • Reporting on program performance data & analytics to measure ROI on a regular basis; includes working with agency partners and platforms such as Cision, MuckRack & SignalAI
    • Review and aggregate results and key learnings across programs to optimize future plans
    • Management of One Dove PR budget  
    • Management of One Dove PR calendar
    • Support in KPI setting and manage delivery
    • Keep informed on competitor activity and think creatively about how our plans can help us to stand out from the crowd 

    Experiences & Qualifications

    • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in public relations at an agency or as in an in-house PR lead; agency experience a plus
    • Strong relationships with beauty media required
    • Proven results in driving earned coverage for both product innovations; experience working on purpose campaigns a plus  
    • Experience developing and managing earned media strategies designed to increase brand awareness, conversion, and overall talkability in culture  
    • Broadcast contacts a plus
    • Experience with issues management is a plus
    • Experience with paid and earned influencer marketing a plus
    • Experience managing PR agencies a plus
    • Experience managing celebrity talent, brand ambassadors and brand partnerships
    • Ability to tell actionable stories with data and social listening
    • Proven ability to oversee and track multiple projects with various due dates and varying requirements and priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • A passion for purpose to help Dove craft and deploy activations, stunts and content that will capture media and consumer attention while drive engagement

    Pay: The pay range for this position is $86,080 to $129,120. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

    Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

    Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
