Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician II to join our healthcare team in Glen Burnie. In this role, you will provide essential patient care services while working collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure exceptional patient care and comfort.

  • Perform basic patient care activities including taking vital signs, assisting with personal hygiene, and monitoring patient condition
  • Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and patient positioning
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment according to established protocols
  • Document patient information accurately in Electronic Health Records (EHR)
  • Respond promptly to patient calls and requests
  • Collect specimens and perform basic point-of-care testing
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
  • Transport patients safely between hospital departments
  • Monitor and record fluid intake and output
  • Assist patients with mobility and daily living activities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Current PCT/CNA certification
  • Valid BLS/CPR certification
  • 1-2 years of patient care experience in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing basic patient care procedures
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
  • Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and safety procedures
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to assist with patient positioning and transport
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Current state-specific healthcare certifications as required
