POSITION OVERVIEW


We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and passionate Fitness Subject Matter Expert Linguist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a profound understanding of fitness concepts, exercises, and equipment, along with exceptional linguistic skills. This role involves translating and localizing fitness-related content accurately and engagingly to suit our audience. You will collaborate closely with our team to ensure that our fitness content is both culturally and contextually appropriate. 


Key Responsibilities
  • Translate and localize fitness content for cultural relevance and contextual accuracy.
  • Adapt content to reflect linguistic and cultural nuances while preserving the original message and tone.
  • Review and edit translated content for precision, consistency, and quality.
  • Ensure adherence to industry-specific terminology and style guidelines.
  • Stay updated on fitness trends, terminology, and innovations.
  • Provide insights and expertise on fitness topics.
  • Conduct research to support content creation and ensure the accuracy of fitness-related information.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, Sports Science, Fitness Management, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience in translation and localization with a focus on fitness content.
  • Demonstrable expertise in fitness, including knowledge of exercises, equipment, training methodologies, and fitness programs like HIIT.
  • Proficiency in English and Norwegian, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both.
  • Strong understanding of fitness terminology and the ability to convey the specifics and nuances of fitness content.
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Passion for fitness and a deep understanding of the fitness community and culture.


$28 - $33 an hour
