Trainer, A1 Garage Door Training Academy
About Us: A1 Garage Door Service is a leading provider of residential garage door services. Our Training Academy in Phoenix trains 30-50 new employees each month from across the country. We focus on equipping our employees with the technical skills, customer service expertise, and operational knowledge necessary to excel in the garage door industry.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Trainer to join our Training Academy team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of garage door systems and a passion for teaching and mentoring. As a Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs that cover technical aspects, customer service, sales, and operations related to the sales, service, and maintenance of residential garage doors.
Trainers at A1 Garage Door Training Academy dedicate 80% of their time to facilitating content in classroom settings, ensuring that trainees receive comprehensive and engaging instruction. They spend 15% of their time providing hands-on, one-on-one training and coaching, offering personalized guidance to help trainees master practical skills. The remaining 5% of their time is focused on advising on new employees' performance and contributing to curriculum improvements, ensuring that the training programs remain effective and up-to-date.
A1 Garage Door Service values internal promotions and employee development. High-performing current employees with proven coaching abilities may be considered for the Trainer role. External candidates with formal training experience must demonstrate their ability to quickly learn the technical aspects of our products. All candidates, whether internal or external, must showcase their ability to facilitate content effectively in front of a group, exhibit comfort with public speaking, and possess strong technical and functional knowledge.

· Empathy: Recognize the challenges faced by trainees and offer support to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
· Assessment & Evaluation: Create and conduct assessments (practical and theoretical) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
· Result-Oriented Approach: Align training outcomes with measurable business objectives, such as improving customer satisfaction, reducing service call times, or enhancing job safety.
· Problem-Solving Skills: Teach trainees how to troubleshoot and diagnose problems, offering clear, step-by-step solutions to complex issues encountered in the field.
· Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess the effectiveness of training programs and adjust based on trainee performance, feedback, and evolving standards.
· Digital Tools: Utilize tools and platforms for training delivery, such as learning management systems (LMS), video conferencing tools, and virtual simulations.

· Curriculum Development: Design and structure comprehensive training programs that address both foundational knowledge and advanced skills, including creating modules, activities, and assessments.

Qualifications:
· Proven experience as a trainer or similar role in the garage door industry or a related field.
· Excellent communication and presentation skills.
· Strong problem-solving abilities and technical knowledge.

· Proficiency with digital training tools and platforms.
