Elementary and Middle School Substitute Teacher

Action Day Elementary and Middle Schools offer a rich educational experience to children and educators, emphasizing small class sizes and a hands-on approach to learning. Action Day offers a variety of extracurricular activities within our regular program including Spanish, Dance, PE, daily electives, an all-inclusive sports program, and Life-Skill education. Students at Action Day Elementary and Middle Schools have access to the latest in technology including Apple TV’s and an iPads. All students are warmly accepted and guided along their educational path throughout our program. As a result, our 8th-grade graduates go on to schools such as Archbishop Mitty, St. Francis, Notre Dame, Bellarmine, and many others!

Position Available: Elementary and Middle School Substitute Teacher

Compensation: $32.00- $33.50/hr. depending on individual experience, education and position requirements.

As a Substitute Teacher, you will collaborate with teachers to create lesson plans and integrate the core curriculum into classroom projects. As you guide our students through our exciting curriculum daily, you will have the opportunity to monitor, document, and assess student progress, maintain close communication with the principal and parents regarding student issues, and conduct parent-teacher conferencing.

Our ideal candidate will come to us with:

  • 3-5 years of teaching experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and offer exceptional customer service
  • Alignment with our core values especially positive discipline and restorative practices as well as a sense of fun
  • A demonstrated hard-working, flexible attitude and ability to manage a complex workload, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment in providing services based on goals
