The Buyer Assistant will be responsible for the maintenance of procurement records in accordance with corporate guidelines. The role involves discussing defective or unacceptable materials or service levels with users, suppliers, and others to determine root cause and corrective action. Additionally, the Buyer Assistant will resolve payment issues, collaborate with internal customers to develop business requirements, and improve processes. The role also includes soliciting quotes, supporting and executing supplier and commodity strategies to support plant procurement and manufacturing operations, and participating in technical reviews with suppliers and internal teams. Travel may be required to supplier facilities and plant manufacturing locations.
The position is based on-site in Detroit at the Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC). The dress code is business casual. The role involves working within the Purchasing organization, specifically in the Manufacturing area of the building. This is a contract role, renewed every 6 months and has been ongoing for years.
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
