Description

Overview: The R&D Finance Manager supports all financial forecast and management reporting for the Product Development & Medical Affairs (PDMA) organization. This position partners with the development group, including key cost centers like clinical operations, regulatory affairs, and drug safety. This position will also collaborate with accounting to review accruals and provide actuals reporting to business partners. Additionally, this position will own the FP&A forecast for several pivotal phase 3 clinical trials, partnering with study delivery leads and the sourcing department to integrate the impact of study updates and CRO estimates on our clinical trial projections. This position will report to the Director of PDMA finance and will have a dotted-line reporting responsibility to the Associate Director of Discovery Finance. The role will be primarily responsible for development-related financial analysis but will also assist with discovery and translational research finance as needed. Responsibilities: Partner with VP/SVP leaders in the product development and medical affairs groups to formulate financial forecasts for their cost centers Provide highly responsive service to the PDMA division for all financial inquiries– field/triage issues on budget changes, headcount requests, invoices, purchase orders, etc. Partner with study delivery leads and sourcing/procurement teams to formulate clinical trial budgets Track PDMA consultant/temp headcount utilization and spend Produce and distribution monthly management reports to cost center managers, providing insightful variance analysis and commentary Review and approve purchase requisitions; work with business partners to clarify spend requirements that do not fall in line with budget expectations Develop R&D forecast slides in partnership with corporate FP&A team Review accruals on consultant and outside service contracts, ensuring that actuals align with forecasted expectations. Raise issues with accounting as necessary. Develop variance analysis and commentary as part of monthly financial close process. Assist in process improvements and system implementations as needed

Liaison w/ bus partners, speaking/presenting to VP/VPs. Exposure to & working w/ Financial Planning (Oracle EPBCS) software or ERP- Anaplan or NetSuite is OK.

The pay range for this position is $66.00 - $75.50/hr.
