For almost 20  years, Avid4 Adventure has empowered kids to live active outdoor lifestyles through our unique outdoor programming.  From teaching youth to ride a bike for the very first time to guiding experienced campers through multi-day backpacking expeditions, our Summer Instructors lay the foundation for a lifelong love of adventure. In turn, our team members gain invaluable mentorship and training in outdoor sports, youth development, leadership, and Leave No Trace principles. We are hiring Overnight Camp Instructors for the following location:

  • Camp Windy Peak (Grades 6-12) - Bailey, CO


In this role you will

  • Provide 24-hour support with guidance, supervision, safety and comfort for participants (Grades 1-5) during all activities

  • Primarily lead our single-sport mountain biking program; may be asked to co-lead other overnight camp programs from time to time (training will be provided!)

  • Organize and participate in camp programming, ranging from outdoor sports to camp games and rituals

  • Follow and educate campers on safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants

  • Serve as a role model and guide campers by exhibiting appropriate behavior, attitudes, and activities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to parents and all participants in our programs

  • If you are a trained Driver, transport up to 13 campers to and from program areas with company passenger vans

Your Background 

We have very limited non-driver positions available at camp. In order to drive for us, candidates must be 20+ at the start of training and possess a valid driver's license.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of camp for all positions

  • Must be at least 20 years of age to be eligible for a Driver position

  • +1 years of experience working with kids in a professional or volunteer setting preferred

  • Demonstrated personal and/or professional mountain biking experience a must have

  • Minimum Basic First Aid & CPR certification by the start of camp (and we can point you in the right direction to get this done) A Wilderness First Aid certification is required to work at Camp Windy Peak

Important Details

  • Work Schedule: Overnight camps are a 24/7 operation. The leadership team will create a schedule that provides you with time off throughout each session. This will typically include an extended daily break, 24 hours off per session, and the weekend, (Friday evening to Sunday morning), between each session.

  • Position Duration: Training begins May 17. Our overnight camp programs run from June 1 through August 1.

  • Compensation: Pay is determined based on position, additional responsibilities, relevant certifications, and staff tenure. Starting hourly are below: 

    • Specialists: $4789.99/ season

    • Relevant Certification Bonuses: $100 - $400 per certification (up to $1000)
