Business Development Representative (BDR)

You'll be our second outbound BDE hire and will play a pivotal role in the growth of Ballpark.

Our first BDE hire has 4x our total pipeline over the last 6 months, a strong indicator of market alignment with the solution we offer. Plus, our close rate is impressive - as we edge closer and closer to a strong product-market fit, customers are switching in increasing numbers from our competitors and choosing Ballpark when it’s a fair comparison against others. The key reason we need your help: we just need to get Ballpark in front of more customers!

This role is perfect for someone who wants to take their experience working in bigger SaaS companies and apply it to a fast growing startup where you can truly shape how outbound sales is done. Equally, we’re open to more junior candidates who demonstrate they have the qualities we’d need to accelerate quickly. We have a welcoming, supportive and diverse team, and we invest in our people - we are committed to giving you the training you need to succeed. The opportunity longer term, is down to you, whether that's managing a team of BDE's or progressing into an AE role.

We’re based in London, UK, with some of us choosing to work together in a co-working space. However, we are ultimately looking for the best candidate regardless of where they live, so we can also support fully remote applications for this role.

Responsibilities

  • You’ll reach out to potential customers over the phone, on LinkedIn, emails, whatever works. You can be creative
  • You’ll research, embrace and apply the latest and most successful outreach techniques and constantly share best practices with the team
  • You’ll identify potential perfect fit opportunities from within our pool of existing users and signups
  • You’ll be confident & articulate in introducing Ballpark to prospects, qualifying their interest, and chairing that first video call with the Account Executive in support
  • You’ll network and build influence on social networks & forums
  • You’ve got 1+ years of BDE experience, in which you can demonstrate that you’ve been able to consistently deliver against lead targets
  • You have a knack for writing engaging messages/emails, and are comfortable qualifying and building rapport with leads across a variety of different channels
  • You’re extremely driven, persistent and love hitting targets, but know the difference between being persuasive and being pushy, always putting the customer experience first
  • You’re organised and proficient in using a CRM (we use Salesforce)
  • You’re a team player and fun to be around
  • An interest in the design and UX landscape is a plus!
