SUMMARY
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for overseeing projects from conception to completion. This role involves managing resources, timelines, and budgets to ensure project success. The Engineering Project Manager must coordinate with various teams including safety, quality assurance, and operations to deliver high-quality results.
Libertyville, IL Plant PERKS:
· Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
· Develop a Tech Plan with Technical Development Engineer.
· Coordinate and manage team members both internally (plant) and externally (contractors, vendors, etc.).
· Manage project budgets including tracking costs and minimizing expenses.
· Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
· Perform risk management plans to minimize project risk.
· Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project cost using appropriate verification techniques.
· Track project performance to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals.
· Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, documentation and presentations.
· Manage projects and make recommendations regarding new technology to improve product quality and productivity.
· Lead and/or provide technical support for continuous improvement projects.
· Analyze Strategic Production Design for viability to Customer/Product demand for utilization of production assets and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material and personnel.
· Assist in planning the rearrangement of the facility and developing the plant layout for the most efficient utilization of space. Complete annual audit of the Standard Work Process to ensure workflows are effective.
· Work closely with research and development, quality assurance, operations, and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures.
· Coordinate training for production and maintenance departments for the use and maintenance of new equipment.
· Ensure all manufacturing safety regulatory policies and procedures are implemented during the Management of Change process coordinated with the EHS Manager.
· Stay informed and up to date with new manufacturing technologies and equipment to reduce the cost through efficiencies.
· Manage vendors/subcontractors to ensure requirements of the job scope are accomplished and confirm that all procedures, policies, and regulations are followed.
· Follows applicable Food Safety and GMP polices.
· All other duties, as assigned.
· Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management
· Strong project management/organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Proven ability to manage budgets and resource allocation
· Strong knowledge of project management principles and methodologies
· Analytical, problem solving, and time management skills
· Experience with AutoCAD and/or Solid Works applications
· Experience with process engineering in injection molding preferred
