Solar Installation Technician***

Whole Sun Solar wants to let the sunshine in! With over ten years in business and over 600 solar PV systems installed, we are committed to providing the highest quality services in a timely manner.


As a solar installation technician, you will be responsible for installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting residential and commercial solar PV systems. Our systems are mainly rooftop installations, with the occasional ground-mounted.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install solar PV systems to specifications and with high attention to detail. We take pride in giving customers peace of mind by doing it right the first time.
  • Plan PV system configurations based on customer needs and site conditions.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble the support structure for solar PV panels.
  • Install solar modules, panels, and support structures according to building codes and standards.
  • Connect PV panels to the electrical systems, you can expect to work with 240 VAC and 600 VDC electrical circuits.
  • Read schematics and follow technical installation instructions. Following instructions is essential!
  • Commission and test PV systems.
  • Work on roofs, and ladders in residential and commercial areas.
  • Load the work truck with system components from inventory, proper planning is key!
  • Participate in regular crew meetings.
  • Maintain a clean and organized demeanor, work truck, job site, and workshop.
  • Be prepared for customer interaction, and to represent Whole Sun, and Bone Dry with the highest level of professionalism.


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Prior construction experience preferred: roofing, solar, electrical, or framing.
  • Must be comfortable climbing a ladder and working on roofs.
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Must be able to work independently and in teams to complete projects.
  • Must have and maintain necessary installation hand tools
  • Have high attention to detail and quality.
  • Electrical, OSHA-10, and Solar certifications are preferred but not required.- we will train!
  • 2 years of roofing experience is required.


Compensation and Benefits
  • $20 + /hour based on experience.
