Product Designer

Capgemini is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Product Designer for a top 10 US Insurance Carrier.

Our Client is one of the United States’ largest insurers, providing a wide range of insurance and financial services products with gross written premiums well over US$25 Billion (P&C). They proudly serve more than 10 million U.S. households with more than 19 million individual policies across all 50 states through the efforts of over 48,000 exclusive and independent agents and nearly 18,500 employees. Job Summary

This role is a key contributor to our consumer and agent-facing digital products by crafting engaging, intuitive, and effective solutions enabling customers and agents to manage tasks and transactions with minimal friction. Actively builds components which are scalable, re-usable and collaborates on prioritization and rationalization of components.

Essential Job Functions

Responsible for competitive evaluations, high fidelity page designs, low fidelity wireframes and prototypes that help define the vision of solving real user problems as well as day-to-day designs. Designs layouts, user interfaces, interaction patterns, visual design, and system components. Communicates and tests the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, and prototypes. Synthesizes and deduces research into strategic and tactical experience recommendations overseeing it from concept to implementation. Independently or in collaboration with researchers, creates hypothesis, identifies usability research needs, perform tests, and incorporates insights solving the users underlying problem. Actively builds scalable and re-usable components and collaborates on prioritization and rationalization of components. Proactively engages and partners on copy with copywriter with the goal of clarity and jobs to be done, understands legal considerations and approval processes. Takes ownership for the collaboration, coordination, and design of digital products, including site applications & features integration. Manages stakeholder relationships to effectively design, test, and deliver optimal features and functionality for customer and agent use. Supports the creation and definition of project requirements, user and business needs. Proactively identifies areas of opportunity in products. Takes initiative to assist product managers identify and prioritize usability issues, producing various options and articulates pros and cons of each. Identifies and leads the execution of customer centric solutions. Plans and conducts user research with contextual interviews, A/B tests, surveys and analysis.

  • 3 years experience in product design in the User Experience field.
  • Demonstrated experience designing transactional enterprise systems required.
  • Lean user experience, design-thinking, and agile methodologies knowledge required.
  • Experience using industry-standard software, tools and methodologies as well as leading research and usability studies.
