We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Expert System Administrator to manage and maintain our Linux and Windows environments within Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, automation, security, and system optimization. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of cloud-based systems while supporting a diverse range of enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Linux & Windows Administration: Maintain, optimize, and troubleshoot both Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS) and Windows Server environments.
• Automation & Scripting: Develop automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Terraform to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
• Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, including IAM policies, firewalls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
• Monitoring & Performance Tuning: Utilize monitoring tools (e.g., Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana) to track system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
• Troubleshooting & Incident Response: Investigate and resolve system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
• Collaboration & Documentation: Work closely with DevOps, developers, and network engineers while maintaining clear documentation of system configurations and procedures.
• Incident Response & Troubleshooting:
o Investigate and resolve cloud infrastructure issues promptly.
o Participate in incident management and root cause analysis to prevent future issues.
o Maintain documentation of system configurations, policies, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Compliance & Best Practices:
o Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements.
o Conduct regular security training and awareness sessions for internal teams.
o Stay updated on the latest GCP security and cloud management trends, threats, and industry best practices.
o Expertise in Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022)
o Strong knowledge of GCP services (Compute Engine, VPC, IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Kubernetes Engine, etc.)
o Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent)
o Proficiency in scripting and automation using Bash, PowerShell, or Python
o Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm)
o Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, Load Balancing, VPN, Firewalls, TCP/IP, SSH)
o Experience implementing security best practices (IAM, TLS, firewalls, logging, and monitoring)
o Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 8+ years in system administration with strong expertise in Linux and Windows environments and 3+ years managing GCP infrastructure.
• Certifications: GCP Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud Engineer certification is highly desirable.
