AWS DevSecOps

At our company, an AWS DevSecOps engineer is responsible for overseeing a multi-region cloud environment, focusing on backup and recovery procedures, performance optimization, server patching and updates, and resolving security issues. The role requires maintaining system performance and availability to meet SLAs, employing Infrastructure as Code tools, managing RDS instances, and collaborating with development teams on performance-related concerns.

Candidates for the AWS DevSecOps position should possess proven expertise in AWS DevOps, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in managing AWS environments. Key qualifications include proficiency with SQL Server and PostgreSQL, knowledge of AWS services such as RDS, EC2, CloudWatch, and the ability to implement server scaling solutions. Additionally, AWS certification as a Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer is preferred.

As an AWS DevSecOps engineer, you will work with a range of tools and technologies including Jenkins for CI/CD processes, Terraform for infrastructure management, and PowerShell scripting. Familiarity with AWS services such as GuardDuty, Security Hub, and various storage solutions will also play a critical role in optimizing our cloud environments.

In this role, the AWS DevSecOps engineer acts as a bridge between development and operations teams. You will assist development teams with performance concerns, establish CloudWatch alerts for proactive monitoring, and provide mentorship. This collaboration is essential to foster a culture of shared responsibility and to enhance the overall performance and security of applications.

The AWS DevSecOps position requires availability for incident management over weekends, particularly on Sundays, which is a crucial day for sporting events.
